Golden Winter Latte

Turmeric, the golden herb with so many benefits. It can help reduce inflammation which means it can decrease arthritis symptoms, reduce pain, assist in IBD and most disease related to inflammation. When you combine this with the positive effects of cinnamon – also reduces inflammation, acts as an anti-oxidant and more, black pepper (digestion, anti-oxidant, anti-bacterial) and ginger (digestion, anti-inflammatory) it makes a powerful concoction.
I’ve been trying many diffente pre-made turmeric drink brands and they are really nice, but I couldn’t help thinking I could make this myself! I wanted a powder I could keep in the cupboard not a paste so I only used dried herbs and spices.
Makes 30 serves
1 tbsp black peppercorns
50 grams ceylon cinnamon (ground) or sticks
50 grams ground turmeric
25 grams ground ginger
1 tsp. vanilla powder

Grind peppercorns and cinnamon sticks (if using ) in TM bowl 1 min speed 9.
Add remaining, mix speed 2, 1 min, store in an airtight container or jar.
Be careful with turmeric, it stains everything it touches.
You can make this without your TM too, just combine everything except pepper in jar, then add about 30 grinds of black pepper, mix well.

I make home made almond milk to serve this with (combine 100g almonds with 1 litre of water, speed 9 2mins, then sieve).
I then heat 250 grams milk, with 1 tsp of the turmeric mix, 3 minutes, 85 degrees, speed 1. Once thats done I make it frothy by mixing it at speed 7 for 30 seconds, but as above be aware this will turn your TM lid yellow for a few days! Add a 1tsp of honey or coconut sugar it you prefer a little sweetness.
